The 2009 Early Television Convention was held on Friday, May 1,
Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3 at the Early Television Museum
in Hilliard, Ohio. The buffet lunch, presentations, and banquet
were at the Makoy Center, a
conference facility about 2 blocks from the museum. This year we
again had live video coverage of the event on the internet.
The live and
silent auctions brought in a total of about $9,000. This year donations
to the museum from convention attendees totaled an amazing $3,150, a new
record. Thanks to all of you for your generosity. Thanks also to the
presenters, those who brought displays, and everyone who helped make
the convention a success.
Here are
some photos of the
event. Thanks to Wayne Bretl and Steve Dichter.
Jerome Halphen presented a slide show about the CRT rebuilding process
at RACS
Chuck Pharis
arrived early at the Convention early to get a TK-30 camera
working. Unfortunately, there were too many bad capacitors
for him to get the camera working. Next year we hope he can
finish the project.
