2010 Early Television Convention

The 2010 Early Television Convention will be held on Friday, April 23, Saturday, April 24, and Sunday, April 25 at the Early Television Museum in Hilliard, Ohio. We have moved the event one week earlier to avoid conflicts with other conventions and meetings. The buffet lunch, presentations, and banquet will be at the Makoy Center, a conference facility about 2 blocks from the museum.

After analyzing last year's income and expenses, we discovered that we lost money because expenses have been increasing over the years while we have kept our registration fee flat. Our goal is to break even, so this year we are increasing our registration fee by $5 to $30. The banquet cost remains the same at $30. You can now register online for this year's event. A complete list of prices is shown on that page.

Here is a list of motels near the museum, including several with special rates available.

Here is a list of the presentations:

Arrival of Home Video Tape, 1956 to 1976 Richard Diehl
Selecting Modern Filters for Color Wheel Displays Cliff Benham
Rebuilding the 15GP22 John Folsom and Bob Galanter
A new look at John Logie Baird’s 1926 30-line Televisor Don McLean
The WGSF Mobile Production Van Leland Hubbell

Displays

John Folsom will display his Mitsubishi 6CT-338 Triniscope
Cliff Benham will display his 'no-wheel' CBS tri-color CRT set with some new additions that allow it to display both CBS color and two-color sequential images and a Butterfield "color" camera and a small B&W monitor for it.
Dave Abramson will display his Indextron tube.
