Andrea sold 5 inch sets either factory assembled (model 1-F-5) or in kit form. The kit version came with a wooden front panel. Each set came with a detailed assembly manual.  In 1940 the kit sold for $59.95 without tubes. The tubes cost an additional $55. It is a wonder that anyone bought these kits, since for an additional $22.50 you could get an assembled 1-F-5 with a cabinet. Our set is in excellent condition. We have one example of putting the kit in a custom cabinet in our collection. There were several articles in 1939-40 publications about this kit.
