Hollis Baird Receiver with Globe Scanning Disk
(click on picture for high resolution image) We have acquired this Hollis Baird receiver with a Globe scanning disk on top. This is the only known set of its kind to survive.
This is a closeup of the radio tuning dial. It tunes both the AM broadcast band and the 2-3 mHz television band assigned in 1930. There are two chassis inside the cabinet, a model R-7-T AM receiver, and a model C-3-5 shortwave adaptor.
This is a detail of the speaker grille cloth.
