Zenith Neon Sign

(Click on picture for high resolution image)

This sign is about 2 feet long and was made for Zenith dealers. It was probably made in the early 60s when Zenith sold its first production color sets. However, neon was not commonly used past the mid 50s, and it is possible that the sign was made for the introduction of the 15 inch Zenith color set in 1954.

Here is the transformer. It was made by France Manufacturing Co., of Cleveland. The company is still in business, and still makes the same transformer. I've written to them to see if they can tell me when it was made. Its serial number is 162, so this one was made shortly after the transformer was first sold.
