CTC-4 is a second-generation color television chassis. Cost cutting is the hallmark of a CTC-4. Designed to deliver big color TV to the consumer at reduced manufacturing costs and with far fewer vacuum tubes, it still did not spark consumer interest when the CTC-4-based series was introduced in 1955 .
