HERE'S ONE EFFECTIVE SOLUTION As a woefully inefficient beast, gobs of heat get generated by a CT-100. A one- or two-hour session with a Merrill warms up the average room. To aid in the long-term reliability of this vintage electronic marvel, just a small exhaust fan will more effectively expel the heat that collects in the upper area of the cabinet, which makes it easier for heat to be dissipated by the chassis. Here a small 117-Vac muffin fan draws heat out of a Merrill without annoying noise. Mounted on an ordinary slab of cardboard from a box of paper towels, it is shoehorned in-between the lid and the yoke mounting-board if needed for extended viewing.
