Baird Prototype

Early Television

This set was purchased,by a collector, in England, from the widow of one of Baird's assistants.  It was in her attic, and was one of the first sets Baird allowed to leave the laboratory on a permanent basis.  Some British expert (allegedly) dated it as no later than 1928.  It has more controls than other scanning disc sets.  It is complete, and the plug is the type used to plug into British light sockets, as opposed to electrical outlets.
