Early Television Museum

Guidelines for ETF Auction & Swap Meet

General:

  • All items are sold as is/where is
  • All auction items need to be registered. Deadline is 11 AM on Saturday.
  • ETF will determine whether items will be in the silent auction or the live auction
  • The number on your name tag is your Bidder Number
  • All purchased items must be removed from the museum by Sunday afternoon unless other arrangements are made with us
  • Bid conflicts will be judged by the ETF auction staff based on the rules.
  • ETF will take a 10% commission on the final sale price with the seller receiving 90%. Payment will be made by check after the Convention.
  • Payment can be made for purchases anytime after the close of the auction through Sunday afternoon by cash,check, credit card or Paypal.
  • We are unable to arrange shipping, but will cooperate with a shipper you select for item pickup. Some items cannot be shipped
  • Some live and silent items will have reserves

Swap Meet:

  • Swap Meet vendors and purchasers must be registered for the convention
  • No commission is charged by the ETF for Swap Meet sales
  • Outside Swap Meet spaces are available to all paid convention attendees on a first come, first served basis

Silent Auction:

  • ETF staff will coordinate silent auction setup on Friday and Saturday
  • Do not hover around an item at the time the auction closes
  • The exact closing time will not be disclosed prior to the closing

Live Auction:

  • The auctioneer will determine starting bid
  • We will hold up items for viewing if possible
  • The auctioneer may have items in the auction
  • Stay clear of the video camera covering the auction and of the auctioneer
  • Absentee bids will be accepted prior to the auction. An ETF staff person will place these bids. Absentee bidders must pay the convention registration fee.
