The Faroudja model CTC-2 was a professional-grade bi-directional RGB-to-component video transcoder introduced by Faroudja during the mid-1990s. It originally retailed for around $3,600 and was designed to convert high-end 480i analog video signals cleanly without signal loss or extra visual artifacts. Interior toggle switches are used to configure the transcoding format as well as switch the internal color bar generator on and off. There are no network or serial control connections.
Excellent for gamers who wish to use vintage CRT broadcast professional monitors. Please note this transcoder does not accept any digital signals, nor does it accept analog signals having a resolution greater than 480i.
The rack case is in vintage condition, with multiple scratches and worn spots. The removable front panel is in good shape (see photos for condition). Interior appears clean. I have done limited testing and the unit appears to be in working condition., including the color bar generator. I have more photos and a demo video. Asking $250 plus pirate ship at cost, but will consider all reasonable offers. Located in IL. Mark, (847) 854-4002 msalbert at aol dot com (8/25/26)
Interested in some video monitors (mainly color) that are in decent condition, near Michigan. Nate, Spartyavenger at gmail dot com (2/25/25)
