KWK-TV Experimental Scanner

From Paul Lindemeyer: KWK, St. Louis, never filed for a TV ticket in the experimental era. But its owner, high powered promoter Thomas Patrick Convey, saw television as a future business opportunity in 1929. He challenged engineer Ed Goodberlett to see what he could come up with. Result: this closed circuit scanner/receiver pair. An all-electronic KWK-TV signed on in 1954, affiliated with CBS. By '58 it was bought by competing AM'er KMOX.
